The
U.S.A. has long been known as a world leader in business, industry,
etc., and as top-ranking
competitors in the world of sports. Even in the sport of soccer,
barely out of its infancy in the U.S. as compared to such countries
as Argentina and Brazil, the eyes of the world now see us as serious
competition since the U.S. Women’s Team won the coveted
World Cup title in 1991 and again in 1999.
Throughout our country the sport of soccer is fast becoming a leading
national past-time. In many areas it even outranks basketball, baseball,
volleyball and hockey as the favorite sport for boys, girls and
even adults! Many cities in Northwest Ohio, such as Perrysburg,
Sylvania and Maumee to name a few, have very competitive soccer
clubs that represent their cities at tournaments throughout Ohio
and other states.
The Fremont Emeralds Soccer Club (a State of Ohio non-profit organization)
was formed around ten years ago to promote the growth of youth soccer
in and around the Fremont area. It is affiliated with the North
West Ohio Youth Soccer League, Ohio Youth Soccer Association North
and the United States Soccer Federation. It is open to boys and
girls from the Under-8 years age group to the mid-teens. We offer
a competitive level of play and instruction from coaches and trainers
for those that are serious about advancing in the sport of soccer.
The cost of operating an organization at this level is, unfortunately,
not cheap. League dues, field rental and the like (coaches on the
competitive level donate their time) all combine to more than some
families can easily afford. Tax-deductible donations can help defer
these costs and make it possible for more children, who may have
a true talent for the sport, to participate and possibly even go
on to earning college scholarships. Equipment, training clinics
for players and coaches, uniforms and advertising are just a few
more of the areas in which donations play a major part in providing
an advanced level of competition for the children of Fremont and
neighboring communities. Many of these children go on to play on
our local high school teams, much better prepared for intense competition
than those who have only lower-level experience.
In return for your generosity, the Fremont Emeralds Soccer Club
will provide publicity for your company, with several different
options of advertising.
The players and parents of the Fremont Emeralds Soccer Club would
like to thank you for your consideration and generosity!
